The new novel by Gary Goldstick
Coming in 2024
The publisher of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby estimates that it has sold twenty-five million copies of the book, and continues to sell five hundred thousand each year. The novel has achieved “masterpiece” status.
The Great Gatsby is about the motivation and efforts of Jay Gatsby, the protagonist, to achieve and maintain wealth, social status, influence, and a relationship with a woman, Daisey Buchanan.
The setting for the novel is the roaring twenties – the second decade of the nineteenth century which was defined by prohibition, the granting women the right to vote, the proliferation of automobiles, the ubiquity of jazz music, and the flapper phenomenon.
The protagonist of Just Call Me Gatsby, the new novel by Gary Goldstick, is driven towards objectives like Jay Gatsby’s; but he must contend with the vastly different environment of the first decade of the 21st century defined by the terrorist attack on the Twin Towers, the Iraq war, and the financial crisis of 2008.
Nevertheless, if you loved The Great Gatsby you will enjoy reading Just Call Me Gatsby.
